Here’s the schedule of the weekend-

Saturday
12:00 noon – Reunion Begins
2:00 pm – Kick off/introductions, Silent Auctions Begins
2:30 pm – Open Boating and Swimming Begin
3:30 pm – Generations Panel Begins
4:30 pm – Open Boating and Swimming End
5:00 pm – Silent Auction Closes
5:15 pm – Flag Lowering
5:30 pm – Dinner
6:15 pm – Campfire
Sunday
8:30 am – Egg and Pancake Breakfast
9:30 am – Chapel

Camp Wa Wa Segowea is proud to announce that as part of our centenary celebrations, in conjunction with Picaboo Yearbooks, we are creating a high quality history book that will chronicle the Camp’s journey over the last century!  You will cherish this wonderful keepsake for years to come.  If you have any old camp photos, clippings or stories you would like to share, get them to Mike Bruns (campwawasegowea@gmail.com) or Kate Barber (kbarber@picabooyearbooks.com

We’ve added some last minute names to the list of people that have RSVP’d for the 100th Anniversary of Camp Wa Wa Segowea- “A Century of Community”.  We do need for people to register if you plan on coming.  You’ll be able to register until tomorrow at noon time.  Click the Reunion tab on the left side of this site and look for RSVP!

From a newspaper article found in the Harlem Valley Times, Feb 28, 1963-

Camp Wa Wa Segowea, the Poughkeepsie YMCA resident camp for boys will open its 57th season june 24th, according to William Dick, Poughkeepsie, camp committee chairman. Registration is open to all boys in Dutchess County, which the camp serves.  Boys 8 1/2 through 16 years of age may attend.  Campers may sign up for one or more periods as follows: 1st Period- June 24th – July 12th (18 days)- 2nd Period – July 12th – August 2nd (21 days) – 3rd Period – August 2nd-August 16th (14 days).

We’re down to just 5 days left!

We’ll be holding a silent auction at the 100th Anniversary Reunion- “A Century of Community”.  Items will be auctioned off with proceeds going to support Camp Wa Wa Segowea and scholarships for kids.  One such auction item is:

4 six-packs of specially made bottled soda complete with one of a kind labels, made just for the Century of Community Celebration!  (Picture is on Facebook page)

The magic number is 6! 6 days left!

We’ll be holding a raffle at the 100th Anniversary Reunion- “A Century of Community” with a few items along with our silent auction.    The items will be raffled off at the reunion at the end of Saturday.  Two such raffle items donated are:

Pictures of camp!  Two separate pictures from 2 different alumni.

You have to be there to win the raffle item!

According to Vassar College Alumnae Clipping Service, “In addition to having purchased the property for present YMCA Camp Segowea, Mr. William Smith had been actively associated with the development of the camp and had served for some time as president of the board of directors of the Smith Park Young Men’s Christian Association, holding organization for the camp property. He also had served as president and member of the board of directors of the YMCA.
