Friends of Segowea Leadership Council
Position Descriptions

President

Currently Held By: Lily Mercogliano

The FOS President will run four annual membership meetings that relate to the organization's annual goals and overall mission, creating an end-of-year report to summarize the organization's progress. The President also maintains communication with officers and FOS membership, as well as the camp director and executive director, to promote awareness of both Camp Segowea and Friends of Segowea. With help from other volunteers and staff, the President organizes the annual August alumni reunion and hosts volunteer dinners during select work weekends between May and October.

Treasurer

Currently Held By: Boo Van Alstyne

The Treasurer's primary responsibility is to manage the forthcoming FOS bank account that contains funds raised by FOS through the online donation site, dues, and special events. As such, the Treasurer will be a communication hub with the other officers regarding financial issues. The Treasurer will also be responsible for submitting donations and appropriate paperwork to the camp director and executive director. As second-in-command, the Treasurer will fill in for the President if he/she is not available.

Secretary

Currently Held By: Amy McPheeters

The Secretary of the Friends of Segowea Alumni will be responsible for maintaining detailed documentation of all FOS meetings, correspondence, and annual summaries of the council's happenings. The secretary is expected to record all meeting minutes with accuracy and particular attention to exact language relevant to the governance of the Alumni Body and its votes and decisions. All legal documentation will be archived electronically, as well as in print filings.

Vice President of Web Design and Promotion

Currently Held By: Louise Van Alstyne

The Vice-President of Web Design and Promotion (VP-WDP) will be responsible for designing, maintaining and serving as administrator to the Friends of Segowea official website. The VP-WDP will also be responsible for creating an online presence on social networking sites and maintaining and serving as administrator on such site. The VP-WDP will manage domain names that are affiliated with Friends of Segowea and arrange for hosting of the official website. The VP-WDP will work with other members of the Friends of Segowea Council and with the Camp Director to promote events and to deliver news online.

Vice President of Fundraising

Currently Held By: Lisa Glebatis Perks

The primary responsibilities of the Vice President of Fundraising (VP-F) are to run one fundraising event per year, to help facilitate Segowea fundraising events run by other members of the camp community, and to head up a "Gifts" team during the Capital Campaign. During the next three years, fundraising efforts will be focused on seeking Capital Campaign gifts; however, during this time, the VP-F should also work on establishing sustainable yearly fundraisers to continue a steady stream of donations for many years.

Vice President of Membership

Currently Held By: Kristen Hendrickson

The Vice President of Membership (VP-M) will be responsible for searching for and inviting all members of the camp community to join FOS.  This person is also responsible for updating contact information for FOS members, working with the Treasurer to keep up with membership dues, and working with the VP-WDP to make sure that the alum and council members are informed of the happenings within the FOS.
